Slowworm Meander

Working on kitchen design details first thing. Coffee break, warm sunshine especially when sheltered from the cool easterly winds. Wonder what’s around in the garden. Mrs Blackbird is collecting food for her first brood. I check one compost heap, and yes one of the baby slowworms is there. The sun is not on the other bin or the tin so I shall check back later at lunch time.
Sure enough by lunchtime there is one snuck up in wonderful curves under the tin. I think it’s the young adult we found yesterday. In the bottom compost bin the baby has been joined by another adult and the other baby is under the tin at teatime. So that’s 2 adults and 2 babies so far.
