My paper round
Following last night's committee meeting, committee members received an email today, with a copy of the latest "What's on" leaflet to be distributed around our village. The houses are all divided up, and we all get a few to deliver to, so no-one has too many. It's actually just a very pleasant walk and pushing a few bits of paper into a few letter-boxes. Although we have several days in which to deliver the leaflets, I've been cooped up behind a hot computer all day so decided to have a little walk before dinner and make my deliveries.
This is the driveway to a group of houses on my "round". I bet there aren't many places with signs around to warn drivers about the pheasants.
There are lots of pheasants around here, and they all seem a bit dozy. If they come in our garden we always call them Phil or Philomena - but it's not necessarily the same pheasants.
We had a couple of friends staying one night, who are city dwellers through and through. The next morning they said they hadn't slept very well because of "the noises from the predator".
Further investigation revealed the predator to be Phil.
