Farndale Daffodil Walk

With the bike off the road being repaired decided that a walk in Farndale to see the daffodils was on the cards.

Farndale is rightly renowned for its springtime carpet of daffodils. The reason for this profusion of yellow has been attributed to the monks of Rievaulx. It was threatened by a reservoir to supply Hull with water but fortunately the protesters won the day.

The Daffy Cafe was doing a roaring trade but we headed past in order to visit the church just outside of the aptly named Church Houses. The church hidden by woodland is in an idyllic setting. The church yard was swathed in daffodils, a lovely change to the usual grass.
