All aboard!

This is the Drachenfelsbahn (Drachenfels cable-car), running up Mount Drachenfels in the Siebengebirge mountains between Cologne and Bonn. An amazing place with a lot of history.

There are many stories about the mountain itself, not to mention the famous Lorelei rock down below it in the Rhein. I also find it magical to think that the Grimm brothers were inspired to write Snow White whilst staying in this part of the world in the early 19th century. Brahms had many a premiere in the salon of a grand house nearby, so all in all, very inspiring scenery indeed!

I'm told the cable car has only slid down the mountain a couple of times… crikey!
