PushMe-PullYou
Too many Blip opportunities today because I went into town to see my employment consultant. Yes, I am suffering from the economic downturn ;-(
I did think about adding to the series from yesterday but the Wizard was in the Square with his wonderful car, that was parked outside our Anglican Cathedral, so it was a hurried Blip for sentimental reasons.
The Wizard has been preaching his message of atheism, in our town square, in opposition to the evangelical Christians since the early 70's.
On a school trip when I was ten, we were confronted by him while we were waiting for our bus to arrive. He inspired our young minds on the spot & we ended up arguing with him. On the strength of this he came & re-opened my Primary school pool & amazed us by swimming backwards while doing the Australian Crawl. We were too young to realise that he could walk along the bottom!
Witness his efforts at Wizardry
He is a well loved eccentric whose Mother was a well known Bluestocking in Christchurch way back in the 20's & 30's.
He used to be in our Square every day, but now he's getting on in years, he is a rare & welcome appearance.
And yes, he is married to a spectacular Witch ;-)
Ps: The sculpture of Jesus in the background at the right is by Greer Twiss
