The tree has arrived...
I'm always all about the experience when it comes to gathering our Christmas tree. We've done the tree farm endeavor when you go out on a wagon and cut down your own tree. We've bought a permit and headed into the forest to find one on our own. We've visited the walking tree farm where you are surrounded by trees and end up buying a pre-cut one at the checkout stand. But this year, after much discussion of the perfect tree obtaining experience, we ran out of time. We were barely going to have time to decorate the thing as a family.... AND, we have zero degree weather hitting us hard this week.
So, this year, we pulled into the local grocery store. Josh hopped out while the kids and I sat in the nicely warmed car. Josh help up trees and we gave him thumbs up or thumbs down. We picked a tree in about 1 minute, he paid for it and we headed home. We purchased our tree, had it set up and decorated all in one hour. Now, that's what I call efficient.
It wasn't the experience I had envisioned, but it was one I shall laugh about for years to come! Especially remembering the man and woman leaving the store, cracking up at the husband holding trees and the wife picking them out from the car!
