Walnut Tree trimming

Our tree is over 100 years old and was in need of a haircut and some shaping. Bill helps in the local woodyard so with his contacts he was able to get this done today. When I was a Occupational Therapist I had a patient in Newmarket who lived close to the village and attended the village school. This was not the modern school we have today but another school along Brookside in the village. She told me that as our house had not been built at the time she was at school she would wriggle to get under the gate to the field and collect the walnuts. Sadly she has died now but she was an amazing lady and I loved hearing stories about village life.
