April 2000. I love this strip for so many reason - just in the construction of it alone it was a lot of fun to figure out what I was going to show and what would be referenced off panel. My audience was mostly straight 20-somethings, so I felt incredibly transgressive to show the inside of a porn shop, to which I dragged my friend Ben many times. And finally, the skeevy porn purveyor in the final panel - smoking, of course, like a pervert - is funnier every time I look at it. Stubble! Oh my god!
