Batik Spider

Identification –Nephila antipodiana or Nephila vitiana.

Lots of confusion and contradiction on the web for the identification of this spider. Personally, I believe both species are the same and merely morphs and age differences account for the differences. This particular spider is a juvenile, with a body length of around half inch.

Whatever the name, still a beautiful spider, worth cropping in for a close look.
