We didn't really believe the "High Water, Trail Closed" sign. Kirby thought a little water wasn't really a big deal, and he saw in us the height of wimpiness because we wouldn't swim across to the other side. He turned coldly away from us and sneered, "And you call yourselves Oregonians."
