La Vilaine

Like the baddy in a crime novel, this "Vilaine" flows through the Cessin-Sevigné suburb of Rennes in Brittany. This was the view from the terrace of our hotel there, where we had lunch before later confronting a crowded bookstore for tonight's event. I spoke for nearly an hour and half, and signed books for the next hour, then we staggered back through the dark to our hotel where the chef had prepared a platter of goodies and left it for us in our room - along with a fine bottle of Crozes Hermitage. Up first thing tomorrow for the loooong drive back home.
