Nostalgia ain't what it used to be
You nearly had a picture of our posh hotel - but here's a novelty. The weather was grey. Made it out to the coast but it was a bit grim so we headed south and stopped at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland. We were entertained to find our rolling pin in an exhibition case.
Liked the museum. Including walking on the glass roof. Learned a bit and gasped at some beautiful objects (though sadly I couldn't sneak them into my bag) and it's a good place to have lunch.
Decided to take a route home via the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge. So why did no one tell us it is closed for repair? Hmmmm.
Detour and the final stop was Northallerton for a cup of tea and a short potter. It's where we lived when we were first married and Mr EAnn was a computer engineer at County Hall. Bought a few odds and ends for tea in the incomparable Lewis and Cooper - well not quite as perfect as it was in 1975. And then found they've closed the public loos. Now that is a poor show.
Home now and the decorating is done - yippee.
