Nothing happens here...

I'm late, I'm late….

Left for the town for a meeting at 2.00. The first lights were on red, just missed them so had to wait. No problem, not far to go and 5 minutes to do one and a half miles. Sailed around the corner to be confronted by roadworks and temporary 4 way traffic lights. Changing times best measured with a calendar.

Turned left, about a minute late now and caught the crossing gates down to allow the longest train in County Durham to trundle down to DraxB power station with it's 3 million trucks… der deh, der derr, der deh, der derr, der deh, der derr, der deh, der derr, der deh, der derr, and eight vehicles ahead of me.

Followed an 8 wheel Biffa tipper up to the last set of lights and I'd swear the bugger slowed down so they'd change to red when I got there. Deliberate or not, they did just that. Now 5 minutes late.

Got to the car park entrance and calorifically disadvantaged Mr and Mrs Molehusband were dithering in their Micra in the middle of the road looking/hoping for someone near the front row to vacate a space, (not so far to waddle, you see) oblivious pig ignorant about the queue building up behind them. Jeeeezzzzz!!!!!!

As I charged into the opticians and apologised at the desk for being late the assistant said, "No problem, we're running a little bit behind". Fifteen minutes later I got my new gogs.

Now, an hour later I think my BP is returning to normal.
