Decoy Bird

This magnificent creature was trying to lure me away from his missus which was grey and smaller. I was impressed by the construction of the wings and that it's long neck folded up for flying. I walked from Amberley Beach to the Waipara River mouth only to find that there isn't one. The river flow must be so low that the water seeps under sand and gravel to the sea. Not sure what the bird is. It could be a white Shag if there is such a thing.
