Alistair Cooke

Today is the 10th anniversary of the death of journalist Alistair Cooke.

I've been remembering him by rereading some of his Letters from America.

I've been delighted to learn that over 600 "lost" editions of the Letter from America radio programme from the 1970s and 1980s have been rediscovered. The BBC had wiped the tapes but fortunately a couple of enthusiasts were making cassette recordings for their own use and these are now being digitised by the BBC.
