Which hill to climb today?
Yes - we chose the one with the cloud on… or to be precise the one behind the one with cloud on that is completely hidden by cloud. Still geologising today, we are in the Moine rocks (a younger suite of rocks thrust over the top of the Lewisian). Cnoc nan Chilean is made up of a Syenite intrusion that came up through both. It is only 558 meters high, so not classified as a Munro but is just a modest Marilyn.
P.s. These hills were called Marilyns as a contrast to the bigger Munros and there 1554 in the UK. …and no, we don't have any ambitions to climb them all.
