Great grandmother
Today was far from easy for several reasons.
But I got to thinking how hard it was for mothers gone by. This fine lady lost her Mum to T.B, had to leave home at a young age to work, helped single mothers in the East End of London, was attacked in Nothern Ireland at the turn of the century as a Salvationist helping the needy.
Despite all this, she clung onto her beliefs, raised her family and was devoted to the true love she found in my great grandfather.
I wish I could have spent time with her and told her how proud I am of her strength of character. I know she would have found time to listen and cared.
So this blip is dedicated to my Great Nanny Annie Rebecca Emerick.
