Mother's Day

We took a bit of a risk planning a picnic for our Mums today, but the risk paid off and we had a brilliant day in the sunshine. We met G's parents at Papermill Lock; a little hidden treasure in the Essex countryside, that unbelievably we'd never been to before. The walks alongside the canal are beautiful, and we only covered a fraction of the paths today. After an hour or so, we collected the bits from the car and searched out a perfect picnic spot. We feasted on all our homemade goods, and sat in the sun for ages, it was lovely. It was all topped off with a drink in a nearby beer garden. We were so lucky with the weather; we had no backup plan for rain!
