Exploring!

"Hills and Holes" is the very apt name of the nature reserve that we explored this afternoon.
Limestone had been excavated here since Roman times and some of the stone was used in the building of Peterborough Cathedral. The hills and holes are now a nature reserve and several quite rare species of flora can be found. The tiny violets were beautiful today and cowslips were about to bloom.

After our BarBQ lunch and ice cream, it was good to have a walk and watch the youngsters running off some of their surplus energy.
