Elegant Lighting

There are 2 of these elegant light fixtures set in front of the Northwestern Mutual Insurance Building in downtown Milwaukee. They are fabulously ornate, as was the style back when the building was built. They were specially made to complement the main entrance of the building, which was designed by Marshall & Fox Architects, out of Chicago, Illinois. When it was built it was said to be one of the finest office buildings in the world. The structure is 8 stories high, built of white Vermont granite, with a colonnade of 10 Roman Corinthian columns, each being 74 feet high & occupying 5 stories of the front. It's an amazing structure, & I'll have to blip the building itself another time. These fixtures were placed there when the building was completed in 1912.
