Bird on a Wire

Didn't take much today so played with what I did take.
One little dickie bird.
And a preset called 'Daguerreotype' with a bit of extra fiddling.
Whether or not one could get this effect using the old methods is unknown to me - perhaps if anyone has any idea . . . ?
