Last of the Cox's
Cox's Orange Pippin, one of my favourite apples. They are at their best when tree ripened (you can hear the pips rattle inside when you shake the apple), and eaten fresh from the tree.
Darn it. I was pruning the plum trees when I stepped back on a plum thorn. It went through my shoe and into my foot. Memories of The Nail came flooding back. This was not so bad, fortunately, as it went in on a slant. I did my best to prevent infection and can only hope it doesn't turn bad.
