Nice Thatch
Out with the club today. After crossing the Kincardine Bridge, we stopped at Powmill for a welcome bacon roll and tea, then travelled a little bit further to Gleneagles Old Toll House where we started our walk. Passed Gleneagles House, and then walked to the old Chapel, where the Laird of Gleneagles is buried. Sadly the Chapel is always locked as it is private, but looked through the keyhole and actually took a shot of the leaded glass through the keyhole. Not a particularly good shot, but a shot nevertheless!
From there we walked on to the Kincardine Estate, and passed Kincardine Castle, a fine old mansion house dated from the nineteenth century. On the Kincardine Estate, we saw this fine old thatched cottage, which wa svery well kept and worthy of my blip. And finished up at Auchterarder where we had a nice social hour to have coffee or whatever.
Weather was dull all day but thankfully no rain!
