Denver's climate allows a variety of microclimates to form, the Rock Alpine Garden at DBG is much cooler in spots than my front yard and in some shady cold locations the soil was still frozen until this week.

Crocus Ruby Giant is in perfect at the entrance to the Rock Alpine Garden at least 2 weeks after it peaked in my front yard
