Bullwinkle???
I attended my first Sanford's Annual Illuminated Christmas Parade 2009. I was not sure of what I was about to see, since I am use to parades during daylight hours. Like Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade with marching bands, floats, and hot air balloon characters.
Sanford's parade, scheduled to start at 6 PM, gave me a challenge on how to take pictures without a flash in a night setting. I am a novice DSLR photographer, so please keep this in mind as you view my pictures.
There were plenty of Civilian Service oriented vehicles with lights and sirens blasting away. There were trucks towing boats that were decked out with Christmas lights powered by generators. A necessity for this part of the state! I was impressed by the performances by the local school bands, and a group of private dance schools. As I was with the few floats that shared the Reason for The Season. The stage of time this world is in right now, I truly believe that one needs to look at a higher power to be able to make sense of it all, to be able to draw from that, and keep strong!
Christmas is for everyone, no matter what age. For me right now, Christmas is for the children. My Christmas present (blessing) is seeing the joy on the young ones face!
Added note about my blip. Everyone knows there is a difference between an Elk, and a Moose. Well, this young boy sitting close to me kept calling ?BULLWINKLE? as this fella passed by. The boy was full of joy seeing this BULLWINKLE! I couldn?t tell him otherwise, he was too happy! Anyways it is Rudolph with the Red Nose for Christmas! SSSHHHH!
