Snow Down Under

THE SQUIRREL IN ME !

I picked another bucket of pears today. Here I am right at the back of my 2 acre section, looking down. On the right we planted an avenue of rhododendrons, Camelias & maple trees; despite the wind, that blows across from the lake, they are all growing wonderfully well. The tree in the middle foreground is a Cornus Nuttallii. I would love to see it in a few years because this is only 2 years old & has grown enormously.
On the left I have a row of hazel nut trees & the ground is literally covered in nuts. I've been picking them up to - but there is only so much you can do with hazels - & they are so darned hard to crack ! The pear trees are behind the hazel nuts.

This is a favourite spot up here. I just love it ! Me & my garden, & not a person in sight. Far from the maddening crowd !
