St. Andrews cathedral

We are in St.Andrews in Scotland for the North Atlantic Craton conference at St. Andrews university - two days of talks on the ancient rocks and tectonics of the crayon that became parts of Scotland, Canada, Greenland and Scandinavia.

Once Scotland's largest building, St. Andrews cathedral is now an impressive ruin at the east end of the town (city?). It still has some impressive upstanding towers and walls of age-worn sandstone.
