Hundvaag.

Busy day in the office. As a treat I let myself wear jeans on a Friday, although everyone in my office wears casual clothes every day of the week. I prefer my smart trousers and dresses for now but might migrate to the Norwegian way of dressing further down the line :o)

The traffic was appalling on the way home - our apartment is on the main road out to Bergen and a lot of people seem to migrate out that way for the weekend. Lovely and sunny all day though, so we packed up a picnic with a disposable engangsgrill and ate hot dogs and home-made potato salad at the top of the hill behind the house. How amazing is it having a view like this only 5 minutes' walk away? There's already a picnic bench there, so we just furnished it with a reindeer skin and a candle and watched the boats coming into Stavanger.

Home to make dinner for tomorrow night, a mammoth fish pie with boiled eggs (Scottish specialty) and tomatoes on top (my own addition). We think we'll probably ski all day, so good to have a meal we can finish off with cheese and bung in the oven.

Skyping M's folks and watching a film, still full of hot dog.
