Pique-nique

Today was great fun...as you can see by the photograph, today Normandy was sunny. I also hate to say that I got sunburntpinked (as did Thibaud!) after we spent the entire afternoon having a picnic in the Vallée des Jardins.

I ended up reading the entirety of Twelfth Night...and I have to say, English humour is not the same as French at all. Every time I laughed I was asked to explain why. Needless to say, after the second time of asking, everyone gave up trying to understand! For me, what could be funnier than 413 year old word play?! The ones that made me laugh the most were either from Act I Scene v:-

OLIVIA Take the fool away
FOOL Do you not hear, fellows? Take away the lady.

Or from Act II Scene v:-

MALVOLIO [Taking up the letter.] By my life, this is my lady’s hand! these be her very C’s, her U’s, and her T’s; and thus makes she her great P’s. It is, in contempt of question, her hand.
SIR ANDREW Her C’s, her U’s, and her T’s: why that—

I know...English student/Shakespeare geek. It's fine!

Very nice day spent with (from left to right) Kendra, (myself), Thibaud, Becky and Thomas. In the evening Becky and I ended up watching Frozen until late into the night, as she hadn't seen it before. I seem to be always watching this film! This was of course, after some studying with Kendra as well...and Thom having a thorough grilling from Kendra when he came on Skype to see how I was! Bless him, at least he was expecting it!
