Another Downed Giant

After a very hectic week at work, I went for a liitle walk near Mannings Heath. I returned to an area I had previously visited but had never got any further than the gate into a wood as it was beginning to get dark at that time. This is Alder Wood which in itself is not very exciting as much of it is a plantation of Scots Pines. However, the path leads to Roosthole Pond that will be Blipped in the near future.

On my way through the wood on the southern edge was this enormous tree which had clearly been toppled by the winter storms. The mass of tangled and wrecked branches along with the trunk on it's side seemed to make a good picture for today.
