The Great Omi

For my lunchtime walkabout, I went to see the Belle Vue: Showground of the World exhibition, telling the history of a hugely popular amusement park in Manchester. It was apparently larger than Disneyland, and contained a zoo, circus, fair, speedway, dancing, boxing, wrestling, fireworks and music for over 140 years until 1981. There's nothing left now except for the greyhound track. This is a statue of a famous tattooed man who was part of the circus for a time and made a living as a showman, travelling the world in the 1930s-50s.
