E commented yesterday that she'd passed a great scarecrow on the allotments. Getting home in time with enough light, something that's about to improve at last, I went for a wander and found it.

Dentist this morning. She peered in, counted things, poked a bit and charged a wadge for doing so. Apparently "Number Four is missing", indeed a few Number Fours were missing. I wonder why, when, and will they come back? And will it hurt if they do?

I also seemed to have some unexpected Number Eight's.
