Not on the nose!
Gideon Mantell was the first person to find one of these. In fact he found a large amount of the skeleton - but no skull. SO, when it came to drawing what he thought it would look like, he placed this bit on the nose - like a horn.
However, he did draw it as a supple creature and not as the great lumbering beast that Richard Owen constructed.
