Getting Ready To Ring The Bell

Today was the 50th anniversary of Radio Caroline and the beginning of the Pop Pirate Radio scene in the UK. which lasted just three and a half years. Although Radio Caroline continued broadcasting on and off into the early 90's.

Today there was a 50th birthday celebration at Walton on the Naze Pier and then into the town.

At midday an original Radio Caroline bell was rung 12 times on-board the life boat by Captain Campbell and a few of the old Caroline dj's
