Bed rest

My mother has been taking bed rests every afternoon to prevent sores. It seemed a good opportunity for another in my series of occasional portraits.

Yesterday's optimism about a house purchase evaporated when my buyer suddenly decided to reduce his offer by £7000 because 'a builder mate' had looked at the outside of the house and said there would be some work to do. I much prefer the French system of selling houses. You agree the price, sign a compromis de vent and then if you back out for no good reason you must pay 10% of the selling price. It prevents people losing money on wasted surveys and solicitor's fees and it prevents gazumping. It seems a much fairer arrangement.
