Feeding frenzy

Cock Pheasant was out with his birds this morning at the bottom of the garden. Nothing sewn for 2014 yet. I think they were eating fallen ash keys. Couldn't see what else there was except grass. I wonder if this was the brood that he reared last year or his harem?
