Take-off problems...
Walked over to the other side of the peninsula to take a look at the wild swans. I've been able to hear them all week but they prefer the inland bay to the sea and rarely venture over to my side.
There were about a hundred of them making a tremendous noise - greeting each other, dancing, flying, making new aquaintances....and doing other things :-) I think their stay here is only temporary before they move further north but I hope it will give them time to practice take-off and landing! Especially the younger swans were particularly ungraceful as they made a run for it..... sometimes they didn't look like they were going to manage lift-off, but once they get into the air flying looks so easy!
