Every Night Is Followed By Sunrise
5.58am 5 degrees
Esplanade
I could tell the sunrise would be kind to me this morning as I crested the hill at Tower Drive and saw a sky full of pink. I was later than I would have liked so headed straight for the Esplanade. There was quite a strong wind chill factor but one of my knitted shawls wrapped round my noggin kept my ears warm.
Rent-a-gull put on a great show and even brought lots of his friends and some wee boats too. I love the way the birds respond to the sunrise congregating, swirling and squawking to greet the new day. The river comes to life at six so the little ferries and fishing boats join the sleepy naval ships on the water. The world soon follows suit with the dog-walkers then the joggers appearing.
I wonder what they all make of the daft woman wrapped up in knitting pointing her camera at the sun?
Happy Friday blip people, it's been a helluva ride!
