bought this interesting light fixture for the living room of the new house.

After putting it all together and digging through all the packaging (why is it that light fixtures have note packaging than any other kind of merchandise?) we switched it ON!!

one by one all the bulbs blew, the fixture gave off noxious smoke and the cord turned from a golden yellow to a nasty black. I happened to be wearing oven gloves and snatched the plug from the socket juts in time....
