Walking along the Glen Massan road, I suddenly noticed the fernery in Benmore Gardens - not usually visible from this point, but what with fallen trees and the leafless state of the end of winter there was a clear sight-line over the burn. We'd left the house in the beginnings of a shower, under heavy cloud, but here, only slightly to the north, the clouds were broken and the afternoon remained dry. The weather, of course, is coming from the east today; presumably the rain in Dunoon was the tail end of something coming through the M8 corridor.
