I Got No Patience So Sick Of Complacence
Day 450 - t'was the day of the controversial teachers strike and a bonus day off with the boy.
Why a group of professionals shouldn't go on strike over pay, conditions and the generally appalling Gove (the mans name sticks in my throat) and regime is beyond me. An awful lot of people simple do not recognise the enemy in this equation, and quite frankly I'm rather let down by far too many people's limited view fed by the jingoistic media on the matter.
I think teachers, who have an incredibly responsible job educating OUR children in their formative years should get paid more, shouldn't have to work unreasonable hours and unpaid overtime and should be allowed to actually teach. People claiming that teachers have it good when compared to other jobs are complete f@@kwits, duh sorry I think standing our children in good stead is far more important than the vast majority of occupations (excluding medical profession etc) and to say otherwise continues to devalue what they do (which Gove is hellbent on)
Parents being inconvenienced? Well I just despair at that argument, seriously wtf they're your own effing kids, school isn't about childminding!
For the record I'm all for anyone standing up for they believe in/ better pay/ conditions or whatever, but sadly I think the majority are far more concerned about what's happening on Corrie/ Emerdale / Eastenders to notice.
Ha rant over!
On the whole it was a good day, boy tested me and my patience (which was thin) several times, but we still had a pleasant enough day. Which included another bike ride over the Chase, this time rad rides through a stream.
Oh and in ode to the anti teacher numpties some good old RATM Know your enemy
