Lake Placid
The path from Braeval through the Menteith Hills to Callander used to be a pleasant walk. Not so now as the early part is a scarred mess of deforestation and an ugly , gravel track has been constructed at the start of the Melling Estate presumably to allow access for forestry equipment. Beyond this the path is rough and very muddy. Coupled with this the rain began as I got there and so I retreated with only a few rather dull shots of tree felled ground.
Driving home though I stopped by he Lake of Menteith which never fails to be photogenic at all times of the day and at any time of year. The water today was still and shadowy and there were a few fishermen enjoying the peace and quiet.
