Youngster

A finch of some kind that has been visiting the garden today. Spent a little while on the bird table amongst all the chilli powder happily pecking up seed.

It may be a female chaffinch as a rather fine male chaffinch appeared in a vaguely protective role keeping an eye on her. Similar wing and head markings except the male's head is grey.
