Cuckoo nest

Cuckoo Nest cottages sit in an elevated position in the St Ives Estate.

My hubby lived in the middle cottage for the first 26 years of his life. His father had hens and then pigs in the old kennels, and a goat in an outbuilding. The boys grew up helping out with the animals, and all of them opted to work outdoors when they grew up. Sadly the old buildings are now unloved and falling down.

J worked on the Research Station and then the Golf Club all his working life. He still enjoys a walk around the estate - hence I got dragged out on a grey and drizzly morning to do a circular route around the estate. Bit muddy, but not too cold - lots of photos taken, but liked the memories this one evoked for J.
