Aylesbury Union Workhouse
It was built in 1844 a year before Aylesbury Prison. It served the area well & by 1925 had been renamed The Poor Law Institution (???).
More information here.
More recently it has been known as Tindal hospital. However it is in the process of closing & the majority of staff & patients have moved to a multi million pound facility on the other side of the Bierton Road.
I knew it would be quiet here, so a reasonable photo of the building could be taken today.
It is now set for redevelopment, but I hope that it won't end up being destroyed as much of the interesting parts of the town has been.
Went to get a suit at lunchtime but now the girls think I have got it too soon & it needs to go back....blah blah blah..... !!
Regular rain showers today.. C with D.
Great news that I have been waiting for today...thank goodness !!
Not long now !!
