I asked if I could take a shot, explaining it was the message on the chalkboard that I was really after.

The two customers were American tourists, and had no idea what the sign meant. I explained it was about Starbucks and its reluctance to pay UK corporation taxes. They thought a boycott was a great idea, and we ended up having a chat about the global economic and cultural influences of the US.

Moral - avoid blippers with zoomy lenses if you just want a quiet coffee.
