Newspapers

We no longer have a newspaper delivery in this village. In fact, my two boys were the last two paper boys we had here but when the newsagent went, so did their jobs. Imagine; being made "redundant" at 14 and 12. We can still buy papers from the petrol garage but too often we would go and they'd have sold out so the girls there put a copy aside each day for us.

But I'm wondering why I bother. I don't have time to collect and read the paper before going to work and there's no point taking it with me to read at work. So I collect it on my way home and then don't have time to read it properly in the evening. Added to which, I've usually caught up with the news from the BBC website so I just do the puzzles.

Buying a puzzle book instead, though, somehow wouldn't be the same.
