Male and Female

Of the species Skimmia japonica ssp. reevesiana

An evergreen shrub with narrow, oval, dark green leaves. Clusters of tiny pink-tinged white flowers emerge from red buds in late spring, followed in autumn by bright red berries. It is hermaphrodite, so does not need a pollinating partner nearby in order to produce berries. With its neat domed shape and long season of interest, it is perfect for small gardens.

My blip looks more Christmassy than Spring-like but the weather was more like Winter again today - even with a smattering of snow for a while.
