Harbour

Early morning walk down at the harbour. All quiet here but plenty industry visible in the background - Grangemouth on the left and Longannet on the right. At one time Bo'ness was one of the most important ports in Scotland, with whaling and timber import and export particularly prominent, but now all the ships pass by on the way to Grangemouth. The coal mine that went under the Forth, and joined with the mine across the water in Fife, is no longer there and the area that the pit head stood on is a nature reserve. My father-in-law, almost 94, can remember going down to the harbour with his father to buy fish from the boats. How things change.
