Another Perspective

Mum engrossed in a signed copy of Hebrides by Peter May (fellow blipper) with photographs by David Wilson, as she sits in our patio room in Barcelona. She doesn't often take to books with such alacrity!

Bb: So, what do you like about it?
Bb's Mum: It kind of shares historical events as you go along, describing the history of the islands from, well, the beginning of time, even going back to the shape of the landscape. And he talks about how his ideas for his novels came from the things he sees and experiences...he's not afraid to say things....wait till I find it...''The police station in Stornoway is tucked away into the hill in the harbour. When I visited the cells, there was an arrow point with the letter E. They said it was for 'East' for Islamic prisoners. It struck me as ironic that in a devoutly Presbyterian Island there was a Koran behind the door but the Bible seemed to have been displaced!'
Bb: Sounds good! I'm not sure I got that all down word for word, but I think I got the gist...hope he doesn't sue me!
